Road trip!

Every time I come back to Utah I remember how much I love it...even though I make fun of it all the time. Love the mountains, love seeing my family, love driving, love the people, love the weather...

Driving here was quite the adventure. It was my first real road trip where I did part/ most of the driving. I drove about 12 out of 19 hours. Today we drove for about 5 hours. We were on the phone with my uncle about to drive through some tiny southern Utah town and I was driving. I tend to have a "lead foot" while driving. My mom and I were discussing this in the car because she was getting mad at me for driving like my dad. She said I am a true Italian, stubborn and impatient. So anyway, I was driving about 85 as we were coming into this little town and my uncle was joking about how I needed to slow down for the cops whether they were real or not. Sure enough, we saw three patrol cars going through. What was funny though is when we drove out of the town there was a cop car sitting right on the sidewalk and you had to look closely to see that it was a dummy in the front seat who's head was leaned back over the headrest. Hahaha...

But now I'm at my grandparents house for a few days. Pretty much all they like to do is watch the news so I'll be glad to get to my cousins house. They came by for awhile today...my cousins are awesome. Especially the Utah ones. I'm going to meet two on my roommates either tomorrow or Thursday...I'm pretty excited! I'm so glad to be out of Texas. Now that I'm gone I realize how much better I like it pretty much everywhere else. It's just too...uppity. There its more about the cars and shopping and partying. Most other places its more about friends and family and having fun. I just sounded like one of those "this message is brought to you by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints" commercials. Utah must be getting to me already.

I have a few favorite things to add to previous lists I've made. Steve Martin has to be added to my favorite actors list. And Serendipity is the cutest movie ever, and should have been on my favorite movie list because I saw it when I was probably 8 for the first time. And Pay It Forward is also a favorite.

I have a few things to say about living in Texas. It was a lot different living here than anywhere else... the main thing I've noticed recently is that I'm much closer to my family that I ever used to be. Probably because of the fact that I had many fewer friends, but oh well! I wasn't really interested in making tons of friends here from the beginning, I knew I would be leaving again soon and didn't want it to be as hard for me to leave here as it was for me to leave Iowa. Not to say that I don't have some awesome friends here, I do. But I'll see them enough that it won't be a terrible thing to leave and I can't wait!

Yep, I'm still alive Jessica. Here's just some random stuff from graduation week and when my family was all here. Carroll Class of '08. Windy as heck! My cap fell off, apparently I was one of many, typical, though.
My grandparents took me to get my graduation present which was a keyboard to bring to school...and I LOVE it.
Then I took my cousin Kelly out shopping for a few hours and came home to leave for the Rangers game last night.

Just For Laughs

We had one of our few family traditions today. We have three that I know of...I'm sure we do other non-typical things, but I probably don't realize that other people don't do them. The one we had today was celebrating my uncle's birthday. He died when I was five or six, and he was 32 I think. But every year on his birthday since then we get helium balloons that are dark green, his favorite color, and let them go. (In the sky) And eat his favorite kind of cake.

Ok and funniest show ever. Watch this clip...it's worth the 5 minutes long it is. It's called Just For Laughs and I don't even know if it plays anymore but I remember seeing it sometime last year and someone was talking about it the other day so I looked it up and remembered how incredibly hilarious it is.

And last thing for today....the Twilight trailer!! If you don't know what Twilight is, well sucks. I'm definitely going to the midnight showing. That reminds me! The Dark Knight midnight showing Thursday night! It's becoming a tradition for me to go to a midnight showing of a movie the night before the last day of seminary. Ok here it is...get ready....
